Introduction

The Department of English, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU),Naushehro Feroz Campus aims to boost up learners’ competency in the field of linguistics and literature. It offers four years Bachelor of Studies (BS) program in English Literature and Linguistics. It supports students to reach an advanced level of English language proficiency and also helps them to understand their other subjects, as well as to promote greater sensitivity to the literary and cultural traditions of the language in a global context.

In this campus, apart from the English (literature and linguistics) courses, the English department also offers other essential courses such as English Composition, Communication and Technical report Writing Skills for the students of Information Technology and Business Administration. The courses aim to provide students communicative tools in order to be successful users of English at an advanced level.

More significantly, the passionate faculty members of English department encourage and motivate learners to attend conferences, research seminars, workshops. Undoubtedly, these sorts of activities help out learners to strengthen their academic, critical, and creative and research based abilities.
