First Day, Session 1.

On 15th, September 2021, the Department of Media & Communication Studies organized a series of workshops titled "Short films & Photography: A meet-up with real story Media production team. The purpose of this great exercise was to provide the students an opportunity to interact and learn from the experiences of the senior Media persons, associated primarily with the practical Beat. The Patron-in-Chief of this series of workshops was the Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, University(SBBU,SBA) Prof Dr Amanat Ali Jalbani sb. The main event was moderated and facilitated by the Sir Dastar Ali Chandio,(HoD). who shed light on the growth of the Department of Media & Communication Studies; and the importance of organizing this series of workshops. The resources persons from real story production house, Mr Sharjeel Talpur and Syed Nayyer Abbas delivered their informative talk on film making and photography @ Media lab academic block 2.

Training Program under "Capacity Enhancement Program CEP Organized For IT Related Support Staff of Public Sector Universities".

A fruitful practical training conducted for greenary, Clearness and security section the staff and their Incharges observed lot of practical aspects in their fields and machanism of work ـ In last meet with respected Vice Chancellor IBA for their hospitality. The Vice Chancellor IBA showed lot of respect for our great leadership Prof Dr Amant Ali Jalbani.

Due to the kind guidance of our great leadership. Our team disciplined, maintained the protocols and decorm of IBA and cleaned uniformed. I was already instructed to all staff that don't violate above said aspects. On arrival at IBA I get off from Uni point first meet with security officer introduced my self and asked about their Sops , by following sops all staff passed though sanitizer gate in order,divide staff into groups. I represented to IBA team about our visit and visit objectives. Then teams proceeded for training to their fields practically. In last all groups came back at main gate and team returned to nawabshah. In morning heavy Breakfast and on return I the ways lunch with tea/cold drink were served to team.

Digital Humanities Learning for the students of Media and Communication Studies SBBU SBA

AIPS Digital Humanities Fellow Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khokhar Mike delivered comprehensive talk on the topic Digital Humanities Learning for the students of Media and Communication Studies SBBU SBA on Thursday September 24, 2020. Speaking on the occasion, as a guest speaker, Mr. Khokhar highlighted the importance of Digital Humanities Learning for the students in general and for the students of Media Studies in particular. He told that with the passage of time it has become incumbent upon us to switch from the traditional modes of learning and teaching to new technology based modes of learning. He shared with students the benefits of using different DH tools like WordPress, Timeline, Canva, Google Docs etc and encouraged them to use these tools integrate their learning. This highly interactive session remained huge success as majority of students actively participated in question answer session. Mr. Khokhar who is AIPS alumni and had spent 34 days at different universities of North Carolina USA in 2019 expressed his confidence and optimism regarding future learning opportunities through use of digital tools. He once again emphasised the importance of this DH approach in learning which has got tremendous attention owing to break of Covid 19 and suspension of traditional academic activities at campuses. The event remained huge success as most of the faculty members and students appreciated the scholarly talk of the resource person. In charge Chairman Department of Media and communication studies Dastar Chamdio told that under the kind patronage of Vice Chancellor such events will be regularly organised in the department to provide exposure and opportunities of excellence to the students.
