International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD-2025)

Welcome to ICSD-2025

The International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD-2025) is a premier event that brings together scholars, researchers, policymakers, industry experts, and practitioners to explore innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Hosted by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad, this conference aims to address pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Conference Theme: "A Multidisciplinary Approach to Climate Risks, Resource Efficiency, and Sustainable Business Practices"

ICSD-2025 focuses on integrating sustainability principles across sectors, including climate action, green energy, circular economy, social equity, and responsible governance.

Scope of the Event:

A major focus of ICSD-2025 will be climate risks, particularly in developing countries like Pakistan, where climate hazards such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves are increasing. These environmental threats endanger ecosystems, human health, economic stability, and food security. Scholars will present their latest research, policies, and best practices on climate adaptation and mitigation. Discussions will cover advancements in climate risk modeling, the impact of global warming on vulnerable populations, and disaster risk reduction (DRR) strategies. By bringing together key experts, ICSD-2025 seeks to enhance both regional and global preparedness for climate challenges.

Resource efficiency is critical to ensuring economic growth without environmental degradation. The efficient use of natural resources such as water, energy, and raw materials remains at the heart of sustainable development. ICSD-2025 will provide a forum for stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions for improving resource efficiency across various industries. Key topics include circular economy practices, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy adoption, and waste management. The goal is to transition from a "resource-gobbling" economic model to a "resource-lean" economy, where economic progress aligns with environmental sustainability.

Businesses play a crucial role in economic development, but they are also significant contributors to environmental pollution. ICSD-2025 will engage the private sector and NGOs in discussions on how businesses can drive sustainable development through responsible practices. Topics will include corporate social responsibility (CSR), green supply chain management, and sustainable product innovation. Case studies of companies successfully implementing sustainability strategies will be highlighted to inspire others to adopt similar approaches.

ICSD-2025 recognizes that education and capacity-building are essential for driving sustainable development. The conference will feature discussions on integrating sustainability into curricula, training future generations in environmental responsibility, and fostering green innovation. Educators, researchers, and policymakers will explore how academic institutions can develop the skills needed for sustainable economies, such as green problem-solving and innovation.

The interconnected nature of sustainable development challenges means that climate change, resource management, and business practices cannot be addressed in isolation. ICSD-2025 will unite researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders to foster collaboration. The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and insights.

Beyond technical discussions, ICSD-2025 will explore the financial and policy frameworks necessary to drive sustainable progress. Sessions will cover global climate initiatives, governance strategies, and investment mechanisms that support sustainability efforts. Engagement with financial institutions, government agencies, and international organizations will help shape policies that encourage sustainable innovation and financial support for green projects.

Researchers, academics, and professionals are invited to submit abstracts and full papers aligned with the conference themes. Please see details for Author Guidelines, Paper Template, and Conference Paper Presentation Format

Peer Review Policy

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors' and reviewers' identities remain confidential. To maintain this standard, anonymized versions of the manuscripts are provided to the referees. Upon submission, the editor conducts an initial assessment of each manuscript. Papers that fall outside the conference scope or fail to meet the required quality and originality standards are subject to desk rejection without peer review. Manuscripts that pass this initial evaluation are assigned to at least two referees. If a referee declines to review, an alternate is appointed. A minimum of two authoritative reviews is required before the editor makes a final decision to accept, reject, or request revisions (revise and resubmit).

Publication and Indexing

Following the conference, all accepted abstracts will be published in an E-Book with ISBN indexing. Only selected papers will be considered for publication in SSCI, ESCI, or SCOPUS-Indexed journals.
