Dr. Muhammad Arif is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Department of Business Administration, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU), Shaheed Benazirabad. Dr. Arif is associated with SBBU since September 2012 as a regular faculty member and alongside worked on several committees as a member and in charge. He currently holds the additional charge of Secretary Advanced Studies and Research Board. He is also member of the Board of Studies and Board of Faculty, Faculty of Management and Business Administration.

Dr. Arif has a rich background in business education. He has completed Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration from Sukkur IBA University and Institute of Business Management, Karachi, respectively. He holds a Master of Finance degree from Massey University New Zealand and a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from Lincoln University, New Zealand.

Dr. Arif is an active researcher. His areas of research interest include sustainability disclosures, corporate governance, applied financial econometrics, corporate finance, and connectedness across financial markets. He has published more than 30 research articles including 20 impact factor publications. He has published in well-reputed journals such as the British Journal of Management, Energy Economics, International Review of Economics and Finance, Global Finance Journal, and Journal of Behavioural and Experimental Finance among others.
