1. One Day Seminar on title of “China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC): A Dream of Socio-economic Development of Pakistan”

One day seminar on “China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC): A Dream of Socio-economic Development of Pakistan” was organized by the department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University on 13th February, 2019. Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif addressed to the audience in her opening remarks that CPEC will bring prosperity in Pakistan. There are around 100 countries are included in the CPEC and the 3000 kilometers lengthy road is being built through the budget of 49 billion.

Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Zarif further said, CPEC brings the economic, social and cultural activities in 21st century between China and Pakistan and millions of people will reap the benefit. Through this project Pakistan will move fast towards the prosperity and the development. With the help of CPEC Pakistan’s mutual relationships with other countries will also be strengthened at best. Speakers in the seminar staged their demonstrations before the audience entailing the faculty members and students of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, SBA.

On the other hand, Key note speakers talked in the seminar about CPEC and its challenges and prospects. Keynote speakers who demonstrated their lectures on CPEC were; Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali Jariko, from University of Sindh (Jamshoro), Prof. Dr. Shabir Hashmi, Director at Belt and Road initiative Research Center, China and Prof. Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Channa from Quid-e-Awam University of Engineering and Science Technology.

The key areas for keynote speaker to focus on were “CPEC: Creating industrialization in Pakistan which enhanced economic activities between Pakistan and China” and CPEC: Building the social indicators of Pakistan and also creating social integrity among the people of Pakistan and China.

In the last, in the question answer session Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali and Prof. Dr. Shabir Hasmi were also asked a few questions from students as well as faculty members and they secured the answers towards the questions posed before them.
